Ángel Merlo

Ángel Merlo – graphic and product designer, factory advisor and InDesign teacher.

Specialities: branding, packaging, merchandising and editorial projects.

… but this list of skills doesn’t properly reflect the creativity behind Ángels designs – so see for yourselves:

Design and production of interactive T-shirts for children, inspired by the exhibition “Balenciaga and Spanish Painting” at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid. A cooperation with the Grupo AMÁS (organization supporting people with intellectual disabilities).

Picking up on other masterpieces of art, Ángel Merlo had different ideas of bringing this cultural heritage into modern everyday life:

Vinyl laptop-cover with a detail of Hieronymus Bosch’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” (Museo del Prado, Madrid)
Part of Paul Gauguin’s “Dogs Running in a Meadow” (Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection) as pet mats

Also available in museum shops: chocolate painters’ palettes and tubes designed by Ángel Merlo:

Ever imaginged to use your hat as a bowl? If not, then try it with this cermanic bowl, shaped like the traditional Spanish montera – but maybe not use it as a hat!
